Sculpture Garden at the ‘Open Studio Marika Bäumler’

You don't need giant sculptures for a garden. Each garden has the possibility to create intimate corners where smaller sculptures will feel at home. It's just a matter of smart gardening and lay-out.
The question that came up most during the exhibition was; ‘Can the sculptures stay outside during winter?’ The answer is simple: ‘Yes !’ All year long these sculptures can stay outside - unprotected. Unlike the bricks of a house these sculptures are baked a second time at a temperature of 1250°C. This makes them suitable for all weather conditions. Maintenance is the same as for everything that stays outside for years.

Het moeten niet altijd enorme beelden zijn voor een tuin. Elke tuin heeft de mogelijkheid om verborgen hoekjes te creëeren zodat wat kleiner werk weer tot zijn recht komt in een meer intieme omgeving. Wat je nodig hebt is een goede plaatsing.
De meest gestelde vraag tijdens de tentoonstelling was echter: ‘Kunnen die beelden buiten blijven staan in de winter?’ Het antwoord is eenvoudig: ‘Ja !’ Het hele jaar door kunnen deze beelden onbeschermd buiten staan.
In tegenstelling tot de stenen van een huis worden de beelden voor een tweede maal gebakken op een temperatuur van 1250°C. Dit maakt ze geschikt voor alle buitentemperaturen. Het onderhoud is hetzelfde als alles wat jarenlang buiten staat.
